Hypnosis is a very relaxed state of being, it makes you feel something like you do when you are able to wake up slowly and lazily on a Sunday morning. Whilst your body is in this lovely relaxed state your sub-conscious mind is very alert. Your sub-conscious mind is the part of the mind that you, with the help of your therapist, will work with during therapy because this is the part that deals with all of your emotions, behaviours and habits. Your sub-conscious mind is also the, often untapped, resource for all of your creativity and imagination.
Hypnosis is a safe and gentle way for you to communicate with your subconscious mind, a process where you remain 'in control' at all times. Don't worry, about working with a therapist they are not able to make you do anything that you wouldn't want to and you won't reveal any secrets that you wish to keep either. Also, rest assured, there is no possible way that you can 'get stuck' in an hypnotic trance.
It is a totally safe and natural state, that is not adictive, a state that anybody of average or above average intelligence can use at their will and to their benefit.
